Introduction

Cats are a popular household pet that has been kept for centuries. While they sometimes give off a selfish and condescending demeanor cats are fun, furry, and playful pets to own.

Care

Cats are pretty easy animals to take care of overall. They need to be fed two-three times a day with many people doing a mix of dry food and wet food. They also need their litter box to be scooped daily and a full clean once a week with a litter refresh. They also benefit from grooming and play.

Personality

A cats personality can be different depending on your particular pet. In general, cats are more solitary than other pets like dogs and do what they want when they want. They do enjoy being around people but it has to be on their terms. They are inquisitive and enjoy playing with people, each other, and other things in their environment.

Cost

The upfront costs for a cat are reasonable overall however it will cost a lot over time. You will need food and water bowls, food, grooming supplies, a litter box, cat litter, and more. Vet visits can be expensive and the initial cost to buy the animal depends on the breed. Annual food costs could be anywhere from two hundred – seven hundred dollars depending on what brands you buy.
